Doing vs. Being

Our culture is quite pre-occupied with ‘doing’. Who we are is what we do. This belief system easily creeps into Christianity. If one is doing or saying the ‘right’ things according to the expectations of others or how their particular church interprets scripture, then they can be viewed as disobedient or be given some other negative label. What if our relationship with God is about being with God? Period. We will be transformed in the process, but again transformation is not the goal, but happens to be the outcome of connection. If you viewed God as only wanting to connect with you instead of fix you, how would that impact you?
