Ashley Buffington is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and Lead Therapist for Atlanta Addiction Recovery Center (AARC). She has counseling experience in the areas of substance abuse, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, adjustment disorders, anger management, grief and spiritual concerns.
Ashley received her Master of Science in community counseling from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Pam Beach, FLA with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Her previous roles include providing individual, couples and family therapy as a therapist/clinical affairs coordinator at a counseling center; providing counseling services to low-income adolescents and adults who have been victims of sex trafficking; and counseling women in recovery from substance abuse.
Her experience in group practice, outpatient substance abuse programs and mental health programs within a non-profit setting has afforded her the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people from various cultural and religious backgrounds.
Ashley believes spirituality is an important aspect of healing. To complement research and evidence-based counseling techniques, she integrates Christian spirituality into her work with people, along with the spirituality of other belief systems upon client request.
